# Cloud Credits

> What uses Cloud Credits, what is free, how many an hour of agent work uses, and how they come back.

Source: https://www.cloudroom.dev/docs/cloud-credits

Cloud Credits pay for the cloud computers your Cloud threads run on. They are the only usage limit on every plan. Your AI usage stays on your own Claude or Codex plan, with no markup, and Local threads never use credits.

## What uses credits

Only an agent actively working in a Cloud sandbox uses credits. Almost everything else is free.

> **Note:** our own overhead never costs you credits. That includes the spare sandboxes we keep warm so new threads start fast, time on our backup provider during an outage, and storage for your files and sleeping sandboxes.

## Credits per hour

Credits follow how hard your agent's cloud computer works, not how long it's awake. A typical hour of agent work uses **about 100**.

> **Tip:** long test suites and big builds use the most credits. Ask your agent to run them once, at the end, not after every change.

## How credits come back

Plan credits work on a rolling 30 days. Credits you use come back 30 days later, day by day, so there is no single reset date. For example, credits used on Nov 3 come back on Dec 3.

## Plans and top-ups

- **Free:** 3,000 Cloud Credits every 30 days.
- **Pro**, $50 a month: 50,000 every 30 days.
- **Super**, $150 a month: 150,000 every 30 days.
- **Ultra**, $500 a month: 500,000 every 30 days.

Need more? Paid plans can top up with **+50,000 for $50** or **+100,000 for $100**. Top-ups are used only after your plan credits run out. They don't refill, they last 12 months, and they can't be refunded. See [Pricing](/pricing).

## What happens at 0

Your Cloud threads sleep until credits come back or you top up. Nothing is lost: files and history stay. Local threads keep working.

## See your usage

- **Website:** [Plan & billing](/billing) shows your credits left, when the next ones come back, and your top-ups.
- **Desktop app:** **Settings → Usage** shows your credits used and what uses them.

## Questions

?? How many credits does an hour of agent work use?
About 20 for light work, like reading code and small edits. About 100 for typical agent work. 500 or more for installs, big builds, and long test runs.

?? What is free?
Waiting for your reply, idle and sleeping sandboxes, starting new threads, Local threads, your AI tokens, and threads on your own VPS. Also chat history, archived threads, files and storage, spare sandboxes, outage backups, and the cloud queue. And the desktop and phone apps, voice input, share links, reviewing diffs, plugins and skills, and inviting friends. All of these use 0 credits.

?? Does storage use credits?
No. Your files, chat history, and sleeping sandboxes are stored for free. Credits only go down while an agent works.

?? Why did my credits go fast?
Builds, installs, and long test runs use the most. So do many agents working at once, and automations that run often. Plan & billing shows how many you have left.

?? Do subagents and automations use credits?
Yes, while their agent works in a Cloud sandbox. Local threads and local automations never use credits.

?? When do my credits refill?
Day by day. Each day's credits come back 30 days after you use them. Plan & billing shows the date and amount of the next ones.
