ABOUT CLOUDROOM

About Cloudroom

Cloudroom is a cloud workspace for AI coding agents that runs Codex, Pi Agent, and Claude Code in the cloud, each agent in its own sandbox, for developers who want their agents working beyond their laptop. It is invite-only for now: join the waitlist to get an invite code.

THE PRODUCT

What Cloudroom does

Your agents, your tools, and your history in cloud sandboxes that don’t sleep with your laptop.

A cloud sandbox for each agent

Each agent gets its own isolated cloud sandbox with a copy of your repository and its own Git branch. The goal: once a task reaches the cloud, it keeps running when you close your laptop, and you come back to the result.

Your harnesses and subscriptions

Run Codex, Pi Agent, and Claude Code with the model accounts and coding subscriptions you already pay for. Your harness calls its model provider directly. Cloudroom does not bill you for model calls.

Sessions and traces you keep

Your files, conversations, and agent traces belong to you. The Cloudroom core is open source under Apache 2.0 and built to be self-hosted, so your history is never locked inside our service.

A desktop app for cloud agents

The Cloudroom desktop app runs agents on your own computer and in the cloud. Start, follow, and steer every agent from one app. Available for macOS and Linux.

WHY CLOUDROOM

What makes Cloudroom different

No ecosystem lock-in

Cursor, Amp, and OpenAI Codex each offer cloud agents that run their own agent inside their own product. Cloudroom runs several harnesses in one workspace, so switching from Codex to Claude Code does not mean switching platforms.

Bring your own model accounts

Cloudroom manages the workspace and execution, not inference. You keep paying model providers directly through the subscriptions you already have, with no markup on tokens.

Your agent history stays yours

Cursor, Codex, and Amp store your cloud agent history in their own service. Cloudroom treats sessions and traces as your data, stored in an open-source core you can run on your own Linux VM with PostgreSQL.

A warm sandbox, not a blank one

Amp starts each new thread in a fresh environment, and Codex cloud caches a task container for up to 12 hours. Each Cloudroom thread gets its own sandbox, started from your project’s saved template, so tools your agents installed before are already there.

Agents off your laptop

Local agents are bad roommates: one launches Docker and runs 1,000 tests, another clicks around your browser. Cloudroom gives each one its own cloud sandbox, so your laptop stays yours.

WHO IT’S FOR

Who uses Cloudroom

Cloud agents are in a team preview today. Cloudroom is built for:

  • Developers who run several AI coding agents at the same time
  • Codex, Claude Code, and Pi Agent users who want agents working while their laptop is closed
  • Engineers whose laptop slows down or gets disrupted by local agents
  • Builders who want to keep their agent history and avoid platform lock-in

A FEW DETAILS

Questions, answered.

Who builds Cloudroom?

Cloudroom is built by David Ondrej and a small team who previously built DeepAPI and the open-source Immortal Agents project. David also runs a YouTube channel about AI with over 400,000 subscribers.

Is Cloudroom an alternative to Cursor, Amp, or Codex cloud agents?

Yes. Cloudroom runs AI coding agents in the cloud like Cursor, Amp, and OpenAI Codex do, but it is not tied to one agent. You run Codex, Pi Agent, and Claude Code with your own subscriptions and keep your session history.

Is Cloudroom open source?

Yes. The Cloudroom core is open source on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license: a self-hostable Rust runtime for running cloud agents. Managed hosting is optional, and a polished self-hosting setup is still being prepared.

How much does Cloudroom cost?

Cloudroom is fully free and open source. Cloudroom does not bill for model calls: your agents use your own model accounts and coding subscriptions.

Where does Cloudroom run my agents?

Cloudroom runs each agent in its own isolated Linux cloud sandbox. Each account and its data are kept separate from other accounts.

When can I use Cloudroom?

Cloudroom is invite-only for now. Join the waitlist to get an invite code, or ask a friend who uses Cloudroom. Codes go out in waves, and early users who give daily feedback get in first.
